Pigeon!

Last week I caught a pigeon in the park! Something I've been trying to do for months! I was quite suprised when I actually got it, and it played dead. I wasn't sure what to do so I started walking back to my house with it. But then it flapped its wings and I dropped it oops!

Scary Swan

Today I went to Strathclyde Park with my Aunty R and my grandad. They threw my retriver dummy into the loch for me, and I am a retriever, so I jumped in after it. I caught it in my mouth and all of a sudden this big swan appeared out of nowhere! It flapped it's wings and bumped into me. I was so scared, I dropped my dummy.
But I didn't want to let my hoomans down, so I quickly swam back and brought it to shore. I am very brave, they said.
Now I am going for a nice sleep on my auntie's bed, making it smell all nice and loch-watery!

Election Day

Today I helped vote in the UK general election! Well, I waited outside for my hooman pack members whilst they voted anyway.

Last Friday I ha poorly paw :( My second toe on my front left paw to be exact had a big slice in it. I had to go to the vet. I like the vet and I tried to be very brave! But sometimes I got scared and took my paw back from him oops! I had it sprayed so that it was all numb and I had to be told not to lick it incase I damaged my tongue. Then the vet snipped a bit of dead skin off the cut, and then held some kind of flame-less matchstick up to it so that it would be "quarter-ised". I also had to have some antibiotics, but now I am nearly all healed. Also, when we were all done I got to eat a nummy nummy crocodile chew - they're vegetarin you know! We think I might have cut it on some broken glass - unfortunately there is plenty of it around where I live.

The next day I was in the park with my dad and aunty Rhona practising my homework for class. I done really well, and we started out for our usual walk. After a while, this big male yellow lab appeared and started to play with me. He was a lot bigger than me, and he kept pushing me over. After 10minutes or so, I started to get annoyed with this, and Rhona realised that he didn't seem to have an owner with him in the park. He kept following me everytime we tried to walk away. I told him that I already have a boyfriend called Ted, but he didn't care. Aunty Rhona tried phoning the two numbers on his collar but nobody answered. Eventually he wandered away to play with another dog.
Later on my aunty Rhona told me that his dad had called her back, and said that he was in Largs, which is a seaside place around 2 hours away. It eventually turned out that the dog was called Alfie, and he had been left with his grandad whilst his dad was on holiday. He was in the back garden when election campaigners left the gate open, so Alfie decided to take himself for a walk. Thanks to our help, his Uncle quickly located him in the park and returned him safely to his grandad's house. Alfie's owner was very grateful to us, but aunty Rhona just said that she hoped that anyone would do the same for me.

Ruff!

On Monday night I was out for my usual walk in the park with aunty Rhona and Grandad when we came across more of these things called "Neds". Two of the hills in my park are in a kind of V shape, and me and my pack were walking down one of the arms, the two neds walking down the other. They were making a lot of noise and "being obnoxious" is what my grandad says!

Anyway, us 3 started walking across the grass at the bottom of the hill..I was behind my grandad and aunty and the neds were making me very, very anxious! I decided I had better bark a warning bark at one of them, and I might have taken a slight nip at him (Rhona and grandad didn't see this part- possibly the guy could have made a move towards me first). Then he ran at me shouting and scared me so much that I ran away. He said he was going to cut my head off with a machete..I don't know what a machete is, but I think that I need my head attached to the rest of me to eat and smile and make Miepe faces.

My aunty Rhona said lots of bad words under her breath and was sooo so sad that someone had scared me enough to make me threaten them. Ah, the perils of living in the East end.

On Tuesday, I had to get a bath to go to my training class. I have been to two or three classes before when I was a small puppy, but this one was mostly big dogs. I was a bit unsure of the trainers at first, but I was okay once they gave me tasty snauserges! Yum! I am the second oldest of the 6 dogs in my class, and I showed off how well I could sit and lie down and stand. I also have to work on "leave", "come" and "watch me". I had a lot of fun and I really wanted to play with some of the doggys there..maybe next time.

I have also made a new friend in the park called Tyson. He is a one year old rescued Doberman, and is just the perfect size to play with me. Today me, Ted and Izzy had fun leading him astray..I got to go for a walk for a whole hour this morning, to help my aunty Rhona relax for her 'zams.
Anyway, got to go, snoozing to be done!

Freedom!

I am in trouble. Yesterday I discovered that I could just about squeeze under the garden gate, which had been de-doggysafed for painting. I led three members of my pack a merry chase, until aunty Rhona seen my furry yellow bum dissapearing in the general direction of the park. I played keep-away until my love of food got the better of my love of freedom, and I came over to eat the tasty treat she was offering. Buuuuusted.

Today I tried to get myself out of the doghouse by helping her to clean the fish tank. I always try to be very helpful whenever she does this, and personally think I'm an expert now!

Miepe's Guide to Fishtank Cleaning
Step 1: Drink some of the dirty water to make room for the clean stuff
Step 2: Lick the filter in order to remove some of the algae with your tongue.
Step 3: Eat some of the dead leaves to help out the snails that live in the tongue.
Step 4: Steal the de-algaefying sponge. This step is just fun!

I'm so so happy that it is raining and thundering. Rain is my favourite, coz it makes mud woohoo!

Aunty Rhona thinks it started raining because God is a Celtic fan. I think if Celtic let me play for them they have a much better chance of winning next year - I love to play football!

King Kong

This morning I got my head stuck in an empty beer 6 pack box and I was scared. But it's okay, coz I got it off and then I got to go a nice walk with my friends Ted and Izzy the Westies. We mooched lots of food off of lots of strange hoomans, and scared two mini-hoomans teeheehe. Then I went running through the daffodils and I found a teddy bear that I had hidden there the day before! I had lots of fun keeping it away from Ted!

Later on at home, my fun shenanigans continued when I pulled all my toys out of my toybox and scattered them all over the living room. I tried playing with my old puppy Kong toy, but no treats came out. I did my best sad eyes at auntie Rhona, and it worked!! She went all the way to the pet shop to buy me a new extra large Kong! Here's a picture comparing sizes - I could fit 4 of the smaller ones in my mouth now! She even got me some Kong Stuffn' Paste to put inside it - nomnom! Also, she got me some special soft treats, but I wasn't allowed to eat them today :( She says that they are for our class next week...I wonder what that means?

Park Life

Here is a photo of me sleeping on my auntie's bed the other night. I am much bigger now than when I was a puppy, because I ate all of my vegetables. And meat. And noodles. And stolen biscuits. And leftover pizza. Even a sock or two.

Speaking of people food, yesterday I got to have cooked herring covered in oats with my kibble instead of my usual tinned dog food. It was soooo nommy.

After my special dinner I went for my usual nightime walk before bed. I was sniffing about off my leash at the opposite side of the park from my grandad and aunty, when a car came up the path in between us. I don't know very much about cars, except that they take me to places for long walks and to the vet where I get crocodiles as a treat. So I thought I would just wander in front of it, you know, see what was happening. My aunty Rhona made a funny noise and her face when like this :O. At the same time the car stopped and I got a big fright and ran round the back of it to get to her.
She said the taxi driver was going to come and shout at us all, so I had to go on the leash to bravely lead her out of danger.
A wee while later, when I was free again, I spent some time sniffing a couple of blades of glass and flowers that I hadn't ever smelled before. Or maybe I had, but I thought it best to sniff them again, just to make sure. My grandad said I was being very lackadasical that night. That means I don't have any daisys, because I like daffodils better.

This morning in the park I found a bone. I like bones. Especially this one, it was all stinky and dirty. Me and my owners had such a great time chasing each other round the daffodils with it. Except they kept trying to take it off me. Don't know why - hooman's are weird!

I love snoozing!

This is me and my Aunty snuggling together one time when I was a little pup. Sometimes she likes to dress up like a giant leopard - how silly!

Teehee! Last night I managed to sneak upstairs and into my Aunty Rhona's bed! I sneakied up the stairs like an elephant, sneaked into her room by opening the door really wide so that the light from the hallway annoyed her, then sneakily jumped onto her bed with the kind of stealth only a 32kg yellow lab can muster. And she was too tired to make me leave.
It is soooo comfy up there, but I am only let up sometimes as a special treat. I started out somewhere in the middle of the bed, but during the night I gravitated more and more closer to her until she had only 3 inches of space left. I like to be close!!

I found some pictures of me sleeping when I was little that I thought I would share

From left to right: Sleeping on the floor with Malcolm the fish, sleeping on the floor with Monty the dog, sleeping on the floor with my head in my nana's shoe (mmm, gotta love that old shoe smell), sleeping in my actual bed and sleeping on my daddy's knee!

Today when I went for one of my walks, we met all these people at my favourite part of the park - the burn! They had lots of food and were sitting on the banks of it with bottles in their hands. Bestest of all, they had two dogs! So I went to make doggy pals and splashed around a bit..the people were really loud and one of them had a white thing in his hand that smelled funny. I got called back by my grandad pretty quickly and he didn't seem happy at all! I was sad because I thought I did something wrong, but then he explained that it was because they were "neds". I don't really understand...they can't all be called Ned, some of them were girls hoomans!

My First Blog

Today I was in the park and I carried a tiny black stone in my mouth up the hill. One time I dropped my stone and grandad almost walked too fast for me to pick it back up, but I got it. I carried my stone all the way home. I love my stone.

When I got home, I went upstairs and I went into my Aunty Rhona's room. The thing they call Niaouli was in there and she hissed at me. I was scared so I barked one time. Then I was too scared to run past the Niaouli thing to the door. So I waited until my Aunty Rhona came to rescue me.

Then later I went to the park and I played with a doggy called Lassie. She was a brindle
Whippet cross. We played chasies round the big fallen log and she thought I was too slow for her. But then I jumped over the log to get to her coz I am clever!!!

Here is a picture of me after I played in my sandbox! I done my best smile for you like this :)
